Furness Poker League III Details

New postby PaulRobinson on Thu May 20, 2010 11:56 am

After a lot of deliberation we are finally launching
League III

This time rather than running over a few short weeks we will be beginning the league on the 27th of May and running it through to October the 6th

A total of 20 weeks

There will be a total of $3.00 per player added to prize funds to be paid out at the end of the league, we will be using $1.00 of this towards paying the top 3 and $2.00 will go to the OVERALL championship of the combined leagues, to make this fair on new players as well as make it competitive for everyone we will be giving the top 10 finishers in the league DOUBLE championship points

(CURRENT STANDINGS FOR CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS)

This game lost a lot of support when Pokerhost moved to Merge network.
Maybe people just don't like it? I don't know ...

im not a great lover of the site myself but it is by no means the worst i have played on.as for moving to merge this shouldnt be an issue as we play for the forum,u dont need to use the site for anything else ,i know i dont i just use it for the league.

Well I have to agree with Sparky, I have tried to promote the league to local players but even after offering big incentives (Of which I have now withdrawn) I will make more of an effort to promote it more online. The league is massive value and by not having the players we wont be giving out as big a sponsorship of whatI would have liked, also we are in jeopardy of losing the entire funds due to lack of interest with Pokerhost. I compare this game to our Monday friendly on Betfair which last week saw a turn out of 20 players. A HUGE difference and okay it was only a $2 buy in but it makes you wonder. Anyyways we will continue and I am sure we will start to pick up some players.

Sorry guys
But I explained to Furn, and mentioned to john, that I couldn't play tonight's game because of a family matter
If it had only been $1-2 would have regged anyway, but not for a Fiver ...
Really hope to be in the next one!

Well will have a push on this today at the live game, see if we can get some more players, I will also ask a couple why they do not play anymore and see if we can get some feedback. What is soooo annoying is that we have so much added money in these games, it seems that when i try and give as much back to the members I fall flat on my face. The positve side is that the Monday games at Betfair are proving popular so maybe we need to look at this in October.

well unfortunately it must be a minimum of 5 we had it dropped from a 10 player minimum, if it doesn't start I will have no choice but to cancel the league games, as I am sure that Pokerhost will not honour payouts which is a damn shame

typical and i was doing so well
did you get any feedback as to why the others dont play it?

t1pfdc kept on at me to play this league as i was complaining about forums with games not starting , i thought the buy in was high but in the end i gave in and i even made a deposit just to support this forum and games , i think it is disgusting that not even 5 of your members can even be bothered to reg or give feedback as to why they wont play , i dont like the betfair software but i still play to support the games , , i think 1 of the offputting part about this is it only pays 2 , i would gladlly give up $5 to pay 3rd place if i come 1st which would make it pay 3 , or perhaps you should ask pokerhost if they will half the buy in costs to $2.50 and half the final prize fund aswell and perhaps you would get more players , i give up my time every thursday for this game even turned down going out a few times to play it or see it cancelled

Good Point John, all I have heard is that people say they will play, a lot don't like the software, I have to agree maybe the $5 puts some off and if we were getting the numbers IE 10+ it would pay 3 places, as it seems the Monday games are going well and on the 27th Betfair move over to ongame network, so maybe the one game a week there will suffice I think, I will of course continue to give out prizes for that game and next week Betfair have kindly put a $55 bountyon my head in the form of a ticket to the $5k, should I win 3x in a row then the ticket will go to the bubble.
