Excellent 1st nite with larger than expected turnout of 50 just about handled.

Great venue and the Chilli and Chips at the break were a welcome surprise and scoffed down by everyone.

The management inform me that the bar in the Poker room will be opened next week so should be even better.

A deal was done between the final 4 - In future weeks we will alter the prize structure so top 10% are guaranteed money.

Well done to Daz Walker and a deserved win.

Results and League Points

1st Darren Walker - 12 points
2nd Paul Robinson - 10 points
3rd Jon Seal - 8 points
4th Joe Boyce - 7 points
5th Brian Shepherd - 6 points
6th Darren Naylor - 5 points
7th Adam Lewis - 4 points
8th Paul Webb - 3 points
9th Gerald :2d :6d Morrison - 2 points
10th Phil Bell - 1 point

Don't forget Top 10 in League qualify for 400 Final Freeroll - all will start with the same chips in the final.

Be Lucky and see you next week !!

Rulings and Abuse

New postby Trainglot » Fri Oct 23, 2009 9:43 am

There was an incident this week which caused a "stir" and some personal abuse.

I had to make a ruling when a joker appeared on the river.

This is from the General Rules of Poker on Cardplayer Magazine's website (http://www.cardplayer.com/rules-of-poker)

Section - Irregularities -

A joker that appears in a game in which it is not used is treated as a scrap of paper. Discovery of a joker does not cause a misdeal.

The fact that I made the right decision is beside the point really. I could have easily have got it wrong. It doesn't matter - the table couldn't decide what to do and asked me to decide on the spot.
However the personal abuse that this resulted in was not acceptable and I am not saying this just because it was me - anybody who sets up and runs a poker tournament for no personal gain whatsoever deserves respect at the very least.
Therefore from now on, anybody who abuses or insults any person helping to run our tournaments will be barred from entering future ones that I am involved in.

Thank you to those who tried to stem the torrent of abuse and offered their support and to those who encouraged it - well thanks for nothing!!

I want to add that the spirit of the games are generally excellent and I thought just a few minutes later Dave Thomas showed exceptional sporting behaviour by returning 18K to a player from the previous hand who had mistakenly posted the big blind and 2k more by mistake when he was under the gun. I pointed out to Dave that he had no obligation to do this but he still did it - I wish everyone had the same attitude.

End of Subject.

We will also be inviting our 2 moderators of the forum to play this game, due to the lack of service provided by British Rail from Glasgow to Dalton-in-Furness on a Wednesday night they have yet to be able to attend a local game, but rest assured at some point we will fix this, to make things a little more fun each will have a bounty on their head ;)

HI Acekilerboy, this was a one off for the local players for that game, our forum is international and all our games are usually open to everyone where poker is permitted. Hope that clears it up :)

Hi RADI1980, this freeroll is restricted to people who have already played at the Dalton Railway games, but no worries we have plenty more freerolls, check the Poker Tournaments and Games for tomorrows €500 freeroll, it is worth checking back on a regular basis as we always have some good offers and games on and normally all our games are open to everyone, unfortunately this was a one off, but I will make certain you and everyone else gets an invite to the next one we have at AWH :)

you wont get the password because this freeroll is private for players who took part in a live event in Dalton-in-Furness .

I won this tournament i must admit i had big luck i won some important pots with the river even the last hand but Joe Cada also was helped by luck to win WSOP :P

Thanks for this opportunity Furnesspoker and good luck in further events folks!

Well Played mate, and thanks for the heads up on the password steal, the culprit has been banned, we have logged his IP and are in the process of getting him banned from AWH.
Congratulations as well to Wolfy for making it to 2nd place and getting €15.00 cash

Thanks Paul it was a good game, with a very tight bubble, I got a little unlucky heads up but the winner did play a good game all tourney so was very worthy of the win. Congrats also to yourself in reaching the cash.

Re: Poker Tour Final RESULTS

New postby robbiebox » Sun Nov 15, 2009 2:09 pm

Top 3 in leaderboard won 275 GUKPT seats (1st) and 110 GUKPT seats (2nd & 3rd)

Same for the Grand Final winners who won cash plus the above seats as well.

All Prize money was returned as prizes plus additional money from the venues themselves, so a great value tour.

Hope you will show your face and silky poker skills next time Dave.

Tour success at GUKPT

New postby robbiebox » Mon Nov 16, 2009 8:07 pm

The Poker Tour of Furness had 4 players playing this w/end at the B'pool Gukpt event and of those 4, two managed to make the final table of their events.

So congrats to Wayne Moffatt who came 8th for 330 in the 110 event !

AND

Gareth Jones who came 7th for 1550 in the 275 event !

Well done guys.

Also Darren Naylor ran well in the 275 event, making day 2 and just missing out on a cash spot.

Re: Railway, Dalton Wednesday Night Poker League

New postby VBlue » Tue Nov 17, 2009 5:52 pm

Hello the Railway players.

I am going to ask around and see if I can get a car load down to this game next Wednesday night - if I am not working late.

I have recently met a couple of your players at an event I ran in Kendal and have been speaking to some on Furness Poker Forum.

This is a really good opportunity for the Kendal and Furness players to meet and play against each other, as Dalton is only down the road.

You are getting a really strong turnout in the 40 player mark. I will be in touch to let you know how many we are bringing next week.

Thanks

Mark.
