Re: My Name is VBlue and I'm a Pokerholic

Just read your March update VBlue and it didn't make for good reading. Sorry to read about your downswing but as you already know they're totally standard I'm afraid, which is why I think trying to play SNG's off a 40BI roll is pushing it a bit. If you're wanting to continue on ipoker, get yourself ...

Re: Northern Poker Stars @ Dalton C.C. £50 F/O, Sun 13/2/201

At last, someone agreeing with me that the rake charged for this tournament is insane! I had my say in this thread about why I thought the rake charge + additional dealer fee's were way OTT, so I'm not going to go over old ground again but its nice that someone as well respected as Dave sharing simi...

Re: Northern Poker Stars Comes to Furness in 2011

I was liking this until I read about tipping dealers on an hourly basis. This could conceivably add an extra £10-£12 to the cost of playing which would effectively mean that the competition is a £50 + £17 buyin game, which is likely to put a lot of players off taking part. If part of the service you...

Re: Anyone earn a living?

Earning a living playing online poker is a pretty hard thing to do. Re: Commentary on this hand please

Well spotted Arnie, yeah betting 10c into a $1.50 pot is not only bad, but a completely pointless bet, I mean you are giving odds away at 16-1, if you are going to bet anything it shoulfd be either a half pot, 3/4 pot, pot sized or double the pot, aggression is the key to take it down, if you want ...

Re: Commentary on this hand please

Was the 10c bet a misclick? I would just check/call down here. Taking a bet/3bet line is way overplaying your particular hand normally, as it totally over represents what you have, so you're unlikely to ever get action from worse, which means you're effectively turning your hand, that has good relat...

Trips, No Kicker With Action In Front

UTG is relatively unknown but I suspect he's bad, playing 28/10/4 over 70 hands MP1 is shaping up to be a juicy fish, running at 55/14/0.8 over 29 hands BTN is a winning reg but still not great, running 23/9/1.9 over 1.5k hands. Reads on BTN are that he bets strong hands strongly but gets cute with ...

Re: Mad Omaha Hand

Normally, I wouldn't 3bet with this hand but we do have 3 broadway cards and a suit, so its likely to flop its fair share of nutty draws, especially in a 3bet pot against a manic villain who basically raises any 4 if its unraised before it gets to him. Re: JJ turn line versus whopper

Yep, betting so small on the flop was definitely a blunder. I don't like betting too much in 3bet pots, as its easy enough to get the money in by just half potting it all the way. Laying a fish 4.8/1 is probably isn't terrible, as Ax is a big part of their range and they're ~10/1 to hit it on the tu...

Re: JJ turn line versus whopper

Whats your thinking behind shoving? Surely its pretty much the worst card in the deck, because he'll either be scared of it, or have hit it and either are no good for us getting more from the hand. Fish, or no fish, he's called a raise, a squeeze and now a cbet, so he has to have at least a little b...

JJ turn line versus whopper

UTG is 21/15/2.5 over 2.3k hands. He's a reg that always buys in for half a load but despite that, seems relatively solid and appears to be a decent winner. BTN is an unknown 79/23/1.7 drooler. I decide to 3bet pre, hoping to get a fold from UTG and a call from the idiot but both call and I hit as g...

Re: Middle set, best turn line

I think 3betting pre is pretty horrible. The value in small to mid pairs is in their implied odds when you hit a set versus top pair or an overpair. 3betting this pre is totally overplaying the hand, as i)you have to fold to a 4bet and ii)you're going to get called a lot given that the open raise ca...

Minging spot with top 2 v bad reg

Villain is a really fishy multi tabling Swedish reg, running 33/7/3, other villain is a 54/11/1.2 I'm not overly happy when both call on the flop. Re: Top Set OOP Turn Trouble, River Decision

I like to fire bluffs on four flush boards, as I think its very profitable versus the right opponents but the point of the bet is that you know they can't call without the flush, which is why you make the bet. Folding can't be terrible but I prefer just shoving here. There is nearly 700 chips in the middle, which would add a valuable 20% to our stack. Yep, I quite like jamming as a line, as I think he might be bad enough to call with AK, especially if he has a heart in his hand but, I also like betting a more standard amount, like say $25, as it doesn't give him the odds to draw if he's still drawing and might create the illusion that he can turn...

KK facing Check/Minraise on Ugly Board

Villain is 46/24/3.7 over 213 hands. No reads on him, other than he's pretty loose passive pre UTG and gradually gets more aggro the closer to the button he gets, which implies even though he's not great, he at least seems to understand position. His CR is 5/19 so far. I don't really know what to ma...
