Re: best/worst sites

Getting sucked out on happens more when you play against morons cause they chase the draws without the odds more than better players. So if it's suckouts you're trying to minimise then play at sites without many morons like crypto or ipoker. Not my choice of game though, gimme a table full of moroni...

Re: las vegas

The Mirage has the worst players allegedly (although I found most cash game players to be quite good). They host daily $60 or $70 buy in multi player tourneys and 10 player sit'n'gos (various buy-ins) run all day long. The multi player tourneys only attracted around 20-30 players so if you want a re...

Difficult to put an unknown on a hand but I'll take a stab at JTs or T9s.

And I'd fold. I can't see him doing this on the river without the 10.

Quite scary but I'm glad this was only Limit Holdem. It would take a super bot effort to beat a top pro at NL Holdem I reckon.

This is a fold preflop and it's not even close. A raise from UTG is normally a strong hand and playing A8o is just asking for domination trouble. The flop is also an easy fold. The preflop raiser bets out which doesn't mean much as he should be doing this anyway on this flop. But he gets raised by g...

Thanks guys, here's my take on it: Preflop: I should only be calling here if I intend getting it all in on a safe flop as I am not getting odds to draw to a set only. Flop: It's a safe enough flop to shove so calling here is a mistake. Turn: He checks on a double suited board so I'm thinking he is p...

Hand for analysis

I played this hand today. Cash game at Party and BB was a standard LAG. He was voluntarily entering 31% of pots, he was raising preflop 22% of the time and he was slightly over aggressive. Comments on how I played all streets would be appreciated. What hand(s) do you put BB on? Party Poker No-Limit ...

The advantage comes from the depth of analysis that you can do. For example, PT & PAHUD cannot tell you how often someone 3-bets preflop. This new software tells you how often people 3-bet, 4-bet, 5-bet, also how they react to a 3-bet, 4-bet, 5-bet. This stat alone is worth the purchase price IM...

New software

This software is about to become the greatest tool in the short evolution of online poker. You can now analyse your play, and more importantly your opponents play, to the far end of a fart! http://www.holdemmanager.net/ Check out some screenshots here: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?...

I think the problem is that the fields are too small to make winning worthwhile for the 3 or so hours of play. If the fields were a minimum of 50 players then this would be more of an attractive offer. So, how to get the fields bigger? There are a couple of cheap ways to get the fields bigger. The f...

Yeah, I'm catching up with the blog. I had a terrible May for one reason and another resulting in my first losing month in 15 months. I had to eliminate all distractions, the blog being one of them, while I played catch up.

If you're going to 3-bet preflop make it bigger. It should be 3x the original raise + 1x for every caller. So in this case you should have raised $12. Calling here is not terrible, you are OOP. Bet more on the flop. Should be around 3/4 pot. Bet this when you hit and when you miss the flop. It's har...

Play a poker tourney for me, anyone?

OK, I have been entered into a tourney at Absolute Poker tomorrow at 9PM EST which I think is 1AM Saturday morning for us. I can't play an all nighter because my mrs is away and I have the kids. So if anyone wants to play this tourney on my account let me know. You can keep whatever you win. Tourney...

I wouldn't assume that the Americans that still play are fish. Most of the US fish were casual players who now can't be bothered jumping through hoops to get their money into poker rooms. The majority of Americans playing these days will be winning players.

Hi Jon, You don't mention how big UTG's stack is but I'll assume it's similar to yours. Preflop - You know what you should have done there :) Flop - I think the raise was correct. When he calls you it's time to worry. You are representing a jack by raising yet he still calls. At this point I would p...

A - Raise to about 60. You probably have the best hand now but you don't want to play this hand multiway.

B - Easy fold.

C - Raise to $8

Hi all, I am a local pro who occasionally browses this forum. As far as I can see, this ...
